FPA 2011 President’s Book Awards Winners

On the evening of Saturday, November 5, 2011, the Florida Publishers Association (FPA) presented its 2011 President’s Book Awards to finalists books chosen as the best in thirteen categories.

FPA President, Chris Angermann, was the master of ceremonies during the President’s Book Awards Banquet at The Helmsley Sandcastle Hotel on Lido Beach, Sarasota. The awards program was the final event of the FPA Publishing Ed-U-Conference, themed “Publishing in a Digital Age.”

Winners were selected from entries by the competition’s judges, 23 librarians from across Florida, 2 national poetry experts, and 3 members of nationally recognized book design firms. One gold and to two silver medals were awarded in each of the following categories:

Adult Fiction
GOLD MEDAL WINNER
Cracks in the Sidewalk by Bette L. Crosby, Instant Publisher.
SILVER MEDAL WINNER
Ursula’s Prism by Anna Block, Gihon River Press.
SILVER MEDAL WINNER
Dead Air: A Sammy Greene Thriller by Deborah Shlian and Linda Reid, Oceanview Publishing.
